We recently had a customer who's TY175 would not tick over. From the symptoms he described it sounded like the crank seals, we were trying to sort this over the phone! He replaced the crank seals but still the problem persisted, there was an air leak somewhere. It turned out to be a combination of a damaged plunger seal and worn plunger, when he squeezed the plunger seal the bike would tick over fine. We replaced the whole assembly and it has been fine ever since. We had never come across that problem before, as they say, you learn something new every day
