We recommend a tight rebore of your barrel with a 2 thou ( 0.002" -  0.0508mm) clearence

This kit is primarily for the earlier range of DT & CT twinshocks but we have tested it thoroughly and it performs perfectly.

FAQ

Q. I can buy a TY175 piston kit from a certain well known auction site for between £18.99 & £45.00 why is yours so much more expensive.

A. I am glad you asked me that question. The piston kits you see on the well known internet auction site are all the same, why the variation in price? I don't know. Anyhoo the piston kits in question we have tried but due to them being for a DT175MX the port timing is radically altered over the standard TY piston and you tend to loose most of your bottom end/mid range power. They are also of cast construction, rather than forged so are a lot lighter. The main problem we find is the taper between the top and bottom of the piston, it is HUGE. This means that you can rebore a barrel, fit one of the cheaper pistons and it will rattle 10 times worse that it did before causing excessive wear on both piston and cylinder. Also there is no small end bearing supplied with these kits

Q. So you are saying don't buy them then?

A. No, it is your money buy whatever you want I am just letting you know what problems you may encounter. We pride ourselves on selling a quality product that will perform as it should and last you a long time, we won't sell you something unless we use it ourselves. I tried the aforementioned cheaper piston when they first appeared on the market but was extremely disappointed with the performance so now use it as an ashtray:-)
