Competition Electronic Ignition Kit

 This is the latest generation competition kit – Ignition only, no lighting facility but we also have a kit with this available

For all years & models of Yamaha TY250 Twinshock

Developed by Trail & Trials UK in conjunction with some of the UK’s top classic riders

All kits are run on the bench before shipping and are timed up and ready to fit and use straight away without having to fiddle about trying to get the timing right.

 Bolt on – Ride off

 This is a total replacement Kit –

• The only original part we retain is the flywheel as it cannot be bettered
• Can be adjusted without taking the flywheel off.
• Spark is produced at revs as low as 400 rpm(Kickstart speed approximately 600 rpm)
• The ignition has an analogue advance curve.
• This curve is ideal for low speed torque (round trees and over rocks) but produces good power and revs at larger throttle openings
• Facility for adding a kill switch
• 12 month warranty

The advance curve on all of our electronic ignitions builds up to figure between 20 & 25 degrees at 2200 rpm and stays at the figure all the way to maximum revs. All of our kits have been like this for at least the last 6 years, we just forgot to update here!

We also offer a kit with 2 ignition maps, standard as above and, to quote a customer 'the bonkers' setting.

Kit consists of the following parts -

New inner & outer backplate with source coil & wiring

New CDI Unit

New HT Coil & Lead with new NGK plug cap

New NGK Spark Plug

The backplate has slotted screw holes for adjustment, which can be done without removing flywheel. Each fixing screw on the inner backplate has 2 hole positions offering more adjustment if required.
