 We recommend a tight rebore of your barrel with a 2 thou ( 0.002" -  0.0508mm) clearence

This kit is primarily for the early range of YZ250 but we have tested it thoroughly on a TY250 Twinshock and it performs perfectly.

FAQ

Q. I can buy a TY250 piston kit from a certain well known auction site for between £24.99 & £49.00 why is yours so much more expensive.

A. I am glad you asked me that question. The piston kits you see on the well known internet auction site are all the same, why the variation in price? I don't know. Anyhoo the piston kits in question we have tried but due to them being for a DT250 Twinshock and whilst the port timing is correct they require extensive modification to fit the TY250. They are also of cast construction, rather than forged so are a lot lighter. The main problem we find is the taper between the top and bottom of the piston, it is HUGE. This means that you can rebore a barrel, fit one of the cheaper pistons and it will rattle 10 times worse that it did before causing excessive wear on both piston and cylinder. Also there is no small end bearing supplied with these kits, why not?

Q. So you are saying don't buy them then?

A. No, it is your money buy whatever you want I am just letting you know what problems you may encounter. We pride ourselves on selling a quality product that will perform as it should and last you a long time, we won't sell you something unless we use it ourselves. I tried the aforementioned piston when they first appeared on the market but was extremely disappointed with the performance so now use it as an ashtray:-)
